John R. (Jack) Goody
Goody, John Rankine (Jack), 1919–2015, brittisk socialantropolog, professor i Cambridge 1973–84.
Goody var specialist på Västafrika och har bland annat gjort jämförande studier av teknologins, speciellt skrivkunnighetens roll i samhällsutvecklingen. Bland hans böcker märks Technology, Tradition and the State in Africa (1971), Cooking, Cuisine and Class (1982) och The Interface Between the Written and the Oral (1987).
