Josefus
Joseʹfus (hebreiska Yoʹsef ben Matitjaʹhu, latin Flaʹvius Ioseʹfus), född 37 eller 38 e.Kr., död troligen kort efter år 100, judisk-romersk historiker. Josefus tillhörde en förnäm prästfamilj i Jerusalem och utbildades själv till präst. Som vuxen slöt han sig till fariséerna och tillbringade åren 64–66 som sändebud i Rom.
