Koch deltog i andra Thuleexpeditionen till Grönland 1916–18 och var ledare för Jubilæumsekspeditionen Nord om Grønland 1920–23 och de geologiska expeditionerna till Östgrönland 1926–27, 1929 och 1930, de s.k. Treårsekspeditionerne 1931–34 och 1936–38 samt flygexpeditionen till Peary Land 1938.
