Baran [bəræʹn], Paul Alexander, 1910–64, ekonom med marxistisk inriktning, född i Ryssland, akademisk karriär i USA.
Barans viktigaste böcker är The Political Economy of Growth (1957) och den tillsammans med Paul M. Sweezy författade Monopoly Capital: An Essay on the American Economic and Social Order (1966; ”Monopolkapitalet”).
